HOW TO REACH GRANADA?
The 10th Young Researchers in Magnetism Conference will take place at the Facultad de Ciencias of the Universidad de Granada (Av. de Fuente Nueva, s/n, 18071 Granada), in Granada, a historic town in the province of Andalucía, Spain. The organizing committee encourages all participants to travel by public transportation whenever possible, in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the event.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND PLANNING YOUR TRIP THOROUGHLY AND IN ADVANCE, AS THE FREQUENCY OF BUSES AND TRAINS TO GRANADA MAY BE LIMITED, ESPECIALLY ON WEEKENDS.
By train
The most common way to reach Granada by public transport is by train. Tickets and schedules are available at https://www.renfe.com/es/es. Upon arrival at Granada train station, you will have a short walk of around five minutes to reach the conference venue.
By plane
Federico García Lorca Granada Airport (GRX) is located approximately 20 km from the city centre. It offers regular domestic flights and several international connections. The airport is connected to the city by shuttle bus and taxi.
For additional flight options, Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), approximately 125 km away, offers a much wider range of international destinations. Direct buses connect Málaga Airport with Granada in around two hours.
By Car
While public transportation is recommended, we recognize that in some cases—especially when shared—traveling by car may be a more practical or economical choice. Granada is easily accessible via the A-44 and A-92 motorways. Public parking facilities are available near the Faculty, although public transport is recommended during the conference.. We recommend using Google Maps to confirm the best route from your departure point. Free parking is generally available close to the venue, particularly near the Parador hotel and the surrounding streets.
By bus
Granada is well connected by long-distance bus services, with frequent routes from major Spanish cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Seville, Valencia and Córdoba. Most services are operated by ALSA (https://www.alsa.es/), offering multiple daily departures.
The Granada Bus Station is located approximately 4 km from the Faculty of Sciences. The recommended way to reach the venue is by Metro de Granada. From Estación de Autobuses station, take Line 1 towards Armilla and get off at Universidad station. From there, the Faculty of Sciences is only a 5-minute walk away.
Alternatively, the venue can be reached on foot in about 30 minutes. Several urban bus lines also connect the bus station with the university campus. The most direct options are Lines 5, 9 and 11, while another alternative is to take Line 33 and transfer to Line U3.
A taxi (+34 658 28 00 00) ride from the bus station to the venue takes approximately 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic.
